I checked that PDF version of the Guide out, and it looks legit. I'm glad the Sheriff's Office no longer considers the Inmate Guide a classsified document. It looks like Ingham County Jail Tales has had a positive impact!

Thanks for this blog-This little bit of insight and information made all the difference. my son (and out of state college student) recently was sentenced to FIVE DAYS IN JAIL for admitting to walking with a beer in his back pocket. For this violation (a ticket in most US jurisdictions) he slept on the floor, without a bed, pillow or towel- of a one person cell, of a guy in for "stabbing a motherfucker". Michigan is one messed up place...It is against my nature, but I do not feel even a little bit bad as a state of our union whithers and dies. Last one out, please turn off the lights....
